Cruel but satisfying love

 

he chokes me

as he breathes into my soul

healing me

as he breaks my heart

 

his words lash out

as his hands caress

stinging kisses

before we undress

 

he leaves me dejected

stealing my sunshine

and returns with

a light that blinds

 

watching from afar

he ignores my cries

then reminds me of my scars

only to say I am flawless

 

he doubts me

as he builds me up

throwing me down

just to worship at my feet

 

he ruins me

as he celebrates me

silencing me

he amplifies my voice

 

he squeezes me

until i am strong as steel

saying this is

the way it has to be

 

he is tender cruelty

the only love

that will ever

satisfy me
